Growing Regions

Texas madrone grows from the Edwards Plateau of south-central Texas to Trans-Pecos Texas and southeastern New Mexico [12]. It occurs southward through Mexico into Guatemala [12].

The current scientific name of Texas madrone is Arbutus xalapensis Kunth (Ericaceae)[6,12,17,32].
